Dragon*con '09!!!

Dragon*con this year was pretty awesome. We stayed in the Marriot, which rocked because we were actually in one of the convention hotels and we could watch dragoncontv in our room (Captain Kirk is climbing a mountain, why is he climbing a mountain?) And our room was amazing! Look at the view we had at night!

It was awesome!

There were so many people there this year it was ridiculous! I got something like 20 autographs this year alone.

For anyone who watches Babylon 5, I met Claudia Christian(Susan Ivanova), Bruce Boxleitner(Capt John Sheridan) (though I elected not to tell him about that dream I had about square-dancing with him), Stephen Furst(Vir), and Peter Jurasik(Londo Mollari). Peter Jurasik was the most adorable of the four of them, and we had a bit of a chat about the show. He signed my autograph first as Londo and called me "my darling" and then signed his own name. He was really awesome. Claudia gave me a cd of hers, too. But I didn't have my picture taken with any of them because I strongly dislike having my picture taken and Hallie doesn't watch B5 so she wasn't there to make me.

We also met three Star Trek captains this year, bringing out total up to four (the only four who matter :3 ). We met William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, and Kate Mulgrew. He's not a captain, but pretty epic anyway, we met Leonard Nimoy, the original Spock as well. We didn't have our picture taken with Shatner, Nimoy, or Patrick Stewart (who is the awesomeness) because it was waaay too expensive, but we did get one with Kate Mulgrew.

We also met Garret Wang, who was Ensign Kim on Voyager with Kate Mulgrew, and got a picture with him. His hair is long now!

Lani Tupu, who played Crais and did the voice of Pilot in Farscape, was there. Cute little Australian :)

And the lovely Felicia Day. Even though she had a crazy long line she took time to talk to everyone who came up to her. She asked us what our favorite show was and she apologized because she'd never seen it. She was adorable. I have to make a mental note to watch The Guild . . .

Speaking of Adorable, we met Vic Mignogna. I made him a little Trekkie/Ensign Tamaki doll with a red shirt on under his Ouran uniform, and he loved it! (He showed it off at the beginning of his panel a little while later :3 )(Incidentally, I found it hilarious that we were on line for William Shatner about 10 people behind him ahahahaha). He gave me a hug and insisted that we take a picture.

So cute!!!

But it was Stargate that had the most actors present, and we met pretty much all of them. Colin Cunningham (who played Major Davis)was pretty hilarious in panels, always going for the gutter. And with that group, keeping out of the gutter is pretty well impossible. Gary Jones was there, but we had met him previously. But we did meet Ben Browder (who I rather prefer to think of as being from Farscape). We got a picture with him and Claudia Black, because they are epic.

I was just standing there, waiting for the photographer to get his camera all ready and I look up and there's Ben Browder in my face! Ahahahaha. And Claude is gorgeous as usual.

We also met Joe Flanigan, who I never ever thought would show up to a con! We were at his table waiting for him to finish up with the person ahead of us and he noticed out little Sheppard bear. He said, "Is that a Sheppard doll?" We answered yes and he said "I like that." Ahahaha funny.

We also met Paulie McGillion again, because he's a sweetheart and our last picture with him was terrible.

When we went to get our picture taken with Jason Momoa and Rachel Luttrel, Jason had some time between the end of his singles and the time when Rachel was supposed to show up, so he decided to mess around. He played with the Ronon Bear and the John Bear and commissioned me to make him one (ahahahahahah I have Jason Momoa's home address!) and then, because he was so hungover, he laid down on the floor and had all of us who were waiting come and sit behind him. This is the result.

Joe Flanigan called him while he was lying there, so that's him on the open phone lying on the floor. When he actually talked to Joe, he asked if he had seen the John bear. Ahahahaha! It's funny if you're me I guess. And then Rachel showed up and Jason had more fun with his bear.

Aside from all that, we went to all the hilarious Stargate Megapanels and Vic's little panel, we had dinner at Hardrock and watched obgligatory silly movies in the hotel room, and on Saturday we played Are You a Werewolf until quarter to three (we started at 7:30) when the hotel staff threw us out of the 10th floor. And "McKay" took a liking to my Rodney bear. But clearly, I was dead at the time (stupid exploding tumor!)

Wakey wakey, McKay!

Silly.

Well, yeah. That was dragon*con. That, and all the ridiculous hilarious dctv we watched.

Captain Kirk is climbing a mountain, why is he climbing a mountain?

Why am I climbing a mountain? Because I'm in love.

William Shatner, please do not ever again say the word "sinewy."
