yeah, family is great
If my 56 year old mother and 17 year old sister could both act an age worthy of graduating elementary school for ten minutes, I think I might die of shock. They are so fucking ridiculous, its like living with a couple of children. And they're both equally insane. Hallie starts cursing, my mother gets angry and makes impotent threats, and it makes me want to slap them both. But the really fun part is after they finish screaming at each other and both of them snap nastily at me because I breathed in their vicinity. I wish my sister was going away to school because then she might come to realize all the things my mother does for her thanklessly. As for my mother, I've fairly well given up hoping she would grow to attain the emotional maturity of an adult, but if my sister and step-father would stop exacerbating the situation, she might be in general easier to get along with. They are neither of them bad people, they're just extremely selfish (each in their own way, though Hallie more literally) a so far from self-awareness that they might as well be living on a planet with no mirrors for all the recognition they have of themselves. It's really too much for me to take sometimes.
