Stuff

Okay, a few days ago I submitted some stories to Word of Mouth (Hartwick's literary magazine). I didn't say anything to anybody about it because I didn't want to get my hopes up (even though it is just a little college literary magazine.) For those of you out there that have my little duct-tape bound anthology, all my submissions are in there. I gave them "Vivid Darkness," "To Breathe Binary," "Everywhere, Everytime, Nowhere, Not" "Cape Cod in Summer," and "A Walk to the Park." Yesterday, we got the emails that said whether they had accepted anything that we submitted, and I was even afraid to check my email for a while. But eventually, I did and found out that they wanted "To Breathe Binary" for the magazine. I was happy. I didn't really think that was necesarily the best story I gave them, but everyone seems to like that one, so whatever. The problem is, they want it to be between 5 and 7 pages. 'Binary' is twelve pages, double spaced. I hardly think that they will accept it if I single space it and say it's only six pages, but I don't know what they want me to do. They tell me to either condense it (Not happening, it would totally gut the story to cut out half of it) or to give an excerpt. How am I supposed to give an excerpt from a story that is already only six pages long single spaced. I just don't understand. I will have to talk to them.
Other than that, I'm good. I started making my audiobook of To Say Nothing of the Dog. It's fun. Also, me and my Hartwick friends are making a tape of random funny things which my recorder can speed up on playback, which we find endlessly amusing. He he he. We are very silly. But we like it that way.
That's all for now. Me sleepy.

All I have to say (or, sing) is : "You're movin' on up, to the East side, to a deluxe apartment, in the sky-hiii. . ." yadda, yadda, yadda. . .
