Serenity dvd cover art

So Universal has released the proposed dvd cover art for Serenity, and there is a lot of dissention in the ranks about it.




I don't really care for the stupid tagline "ultimate action bladdy-blah" or the impossible laser battle in the right hand corner (where did those freaking lasers come from anyway?), but I do sorta like the way it looks, I like the colors and stuff. But there are a lot of whiney fans out there that are all angerangerhate and basically acting like babies about it. What do you think?

I'm not caring for it all, except for like, Mal and Zoey and the Serenity right across the middle. The River doesn't even look like River, too done up and the laser battle? So didn't happen. *shrug* I'm still gonna buy the thing, but yaddy-ya.

I suppose I pictured it to look more like the cover of the Firefly box set. They do need to get rid of the tag-line, cause that's lame.

It almost feels like there is too much going on in the cover. I'd perfer it if it was maybe just Mal, since the emotion really revolves around him.

Perhaps it should just be the ship.

But, as I don't usually judge DVDs by their cover, it isn't the worst thing ever. But they can do better.

It looks a little "made for TV"ish. Or "straight to DVD"ish. Or maybe too photoshopy. And I concur. . .who the hell is that whore girl?
It's an alright cover, but definitely not as good as it could be.

I think it's pretty cheesy, myself... it makes the flic look more like your standard, run-of-the-mill low budget sci-fi movie rather than the sophisticated piece of cinema gold that it is. Just MHO.
